South Wall of the Aconcagua

Mount Aconcagua (6,962 mts) is the highest peak in the American Continent and the Southern hemisphere, this is an unforgettable trek into the Andes Range which spreads from North to South along South America. You will walk along valleys, cross rivers and enjoy the scenery of hanging glaciers and surrounding 5,000 meters peaks.

DAY 1- MENDOZA
Upon arrival to Mendoza airport, you will be met and taken to your hotel your guide will go over the final details and help you out with doubts. Accommodations. Dinner

DAY 2 – MENDOZA /PUENTE DEL INCA
Morning departure to Puente del Inca along the Potreillos Valley to then Continue our way to the Uspallata Valley, where we will stop for lunch in the town. Continue our way to our final destination and check in at the hosteria. Take you time to visit ancient Hotel and natural bridge that used to be part of the Inca trail during pre-Columbian times. Accommodation in Puente del Inca. Dinner

DAY 3 – PUENTE DEL INCA/ CONFLUENCIA (3,300)
Morning transfer to Aconcagua Provincial Park where our trek begins following the Horcones river, from where we will appreciate the first vies of the impressive South Wall. The path will take us to Horcones lake and, after crossing the river over a rope bridge, we finally reach our campsite at Confluencia (3,300 meters), set up along the shores. Many mountain rivers meet here to from the Horcones river. Camp – box lunch – dinner.

DAY 4- CONFLUENCIA / PLAZA FRANCIA / CONFLUENCIA
Early departure to our highest point on the trek, Plaza Francia (4,000 meters). This is a campsite use by climbers to commence their ascent to dangerous South Wall. As we walk, we will first reach a point from where different paths lead to Plaza de Mulas, Horcones and Plaza Francia. From here we will continue north towards a valley surrounded by 5,000 meters peaks. We finally reach Plaza Francia view point from where we may appreciate the Horcones Glacier and the South Wall of Mount Aconcagua. Return to Confluencia camp. Box Lunch. Dinner.

DAY 5 CONFUENCIA/ PUENTE DEL INCA / MENDOZA
Return to Puente del Inca (or join our plaza de Mulas extension) along the same path for our final transfer to Mendoza. Optional; rafting on the way back to the city. Accommodation in Mendoza. Box Lunch Dinner

DAY 6 – MENDOZA
