Estancia with Horseback ride & lunch
FULL DAY TOUR AT ESTANCIA FORTÍN CHACABUCO
Departure from Bariloche towards the north, crossing the Limay River we will arrive at Estancia Fortín Chacabuco, a beautiful hacienda located 20 km. away from Bariloche, in the province of Neuquen. It was built in 1883 when General Villegas ordered to build the Chacabuco Fort, in the fight against the aborigines.
This Estancia has 5000 has. dedicated to sheep breeding (they were the first ones to use frozen sperms for artificial insemination) and offers different and varied flora, fauna and soils creating a very interesting and amazing landscape.
In this attractive estancia it is possible to watch wild stags, different kinds of birds and reptiles, go hiking or horseback riding through the awesome hills, valleys and streams enjoying spectacular panoramic views of Bariloche city and its outskirts, go fishing, hunting or observe the sheep shear.
It is also possible to go for a relaxed walk admiring the incredible 15 year old pine trees plantation or the 300 years old cypress forest.
Upon arrival we will have an explanatory talk of the productive activities of the Estancia and we will learn about sheep shearing. Later we will taste the Argentine barbecue (asado criollo) and next we will be able to enjoy different activities such as horseback riding, fishing in the Limay River, wild flora and fauna watching, short walks and minitrekking to the hill where the fortín Chacabuco was located.
Return to the hotel.
