TRONADOR HILL AND ALERCES CASCADE
Departure from Bariloche through the national route 258 bordering Gutiérrez Lake and crossing Pilmaiquén river and Melgarejo stream.
Further on, we will border Mascardi Lake, Moscos Lake and Manso river up to Hess river.
Crossing Roca river the road ends next to Alerces Cascade. Walking the 300 meters left we will arrive at the wonderful cascade lookout. Continue to Tronador hill crossing the bridge over Manso Superior river up to Pampa Linda where we will make a stop to have lunch.
Almost at the end of the road, passing through a shady “cohihues” and “ lenga” woods, we will arrive at Manso Glacier called “Ventisquero Negro”, due to the dark colour it has because of the dark dust that covers it.
Arrival at Tronador Hill. The three characteristic peaks are “Argentino” (3.554 mts), “Internacional “ (3.554 mts) and “Chileno” (3.410 mts).
Here, you can hike through the mountain following a 2 hours trail or hike to a waterfall.
Return to Bariloche.
Important Note: The Alerces Cascade is not visited in winter due to climate conditions.
