SAN IGNACIO MINI RUINS TOUR
Departure from your hotel towards San Ignacio Mini, 240 Km from Iguazú, the most outstanding archeological historical resort of the Jesuitic Settlement, wich was declared Mankind Heritage by UNESCO. A religious order of men from the Roman Catholic church, the Jesuits were devoted to promoting the ‘greater glory of God’ and thus committed to converting the indigenous Guarani Indians.
The visit starts with a visit to a didactic site museum which will contribute to interpret what we will see next.
This excursion will transport us in time to the XVII century, when the priests of The Jesuitic Company organized their settlements with the intention of converting the guarani aborigins. We will be surprised by the great organization of this comunities established in the middle of the jungle.
We will visit the ruins distributed around what were once the Main Square, the indians rooms, the church, the cloister, the cemetery and the shops.
In the way back we will visit Wanda Mines dedicated to the extraction of semiprecious stones, such us: crystal rock, amatist, quartz. Formed below the hard surface basalt rock, watch as they are magically transformed into jewels and decorative pieces. We will also observe the tea and mate plantations.
