Day 1: El Calafate

Reception at El Calafate Airport and private transfer to the hotel.
Free day in El Calafate.

Enjoy your free time to visit El Calafate. This city offers a multitude of activities:
- Visit the Natural Reserve " Laguna Nimez" to enjoy the wilderness and to observe the flamingos and the 80 other species of birds that live in the reserve. (A 20-minute walk from the city center - duration of the visit: 2h00).
- Visit the Interpretive Center of El Calafate. You will make a trip back in time lit up with solar energy. This Information Centre offers various themes: paleontology, geology, anthropology and history. (Open daily from September to April from 10am to 20pm and every day except on Tuesday from May to August from 11h to 17h - Entrance: 95 pesos / - 12 years old: 40 pesos).
- Rent an electric bike to explore the city.
- Have a drink downtown in an ice bar : The Glaciobar is a place where everything is made of ice (walls, bar, tables and glasses included). Temperature of - 10ºc.

Night at the Los Canelos hotel ***.

Day 2: El Calafate - Perito Moreno Glacier - El Calafate

At 8 am, transfer with a private vehicle, to go to the Perito Moreno Glacier, 80km away from El Calafate.
This full-day excursion allows you to thoroughly enjoy the exceptional natural surroundings.
You will delight in the panoramic views, afforded by countless foot-bridges of the glacier and its surrounding lenga beech forest.
Return trip to El Calafate at 4:30 pm approximately.

From the port located at Refugio Argentino, you embark on an hour navigation to enjoy the South face of the Glacier that can surpass 70 meters.
Entrance to Los Glaciares National Park for the day included.
Excursion performed by an English-speaking guide.

Night at the Los Canelos hotel ***.
Included : private transport, cruise, entrance fees, english speaking guide, room & breakfast

Day 3: Navigation - Lago Argentino - El Calafate - El Chalten

Transfer on pool service from your hotel, you will be picked up around 7:30 am and will undertake the journey of 40 Km to Punta Bandera, where you will embark. Full day sailing, covering the northern arm of Lake Argentino, watching the Spegazzini and Upsala glaciers, entering the bays that they form and sailing through the cord of icebergs located about 20 km from the Upsala glacier.
Return to Punta Bandera and then to El Calafate.
Total time of navigation: 5 hours on boats designed for 250 passengers.

Transfer in pool service from the hotel in El Calafate to the hotel in El Chalten. 210 km. 3 hours and 30 minutes of journey.

Night at the Nothofagus Bed and Breakfast **.

Day 4: Trekking - Laguna Torre - El Chalten

Trek self guided up to Laguna Torre.

You are walking by yourself (maps available at the entrance of the Park and trails are well marked).

Beautiful walk to reach the nearest viewpoint to the range of the legendary Cerro Torre. It takes about three hours on a trail without great difficulty, passing through the viewpoint of Torre, from where you have a very good view of all the mountains and the typical glacial valley of Cerro Torre. Before reaching the lake we pass the De Agostini camp and after ten minutes walking through the last glacial moraines, we will access one of the most famous sights of the park: all the sensational group of Cerro Torre, Cerro Solo, the snowy range of the Adelas, Torre glacier and the lake of the same name. It is optional to continue to the Maestri viewpoint.

Day 5: El Chalten - Toro Campsite


We leave El Chalten and go the Visitors Center of the National Park.

Our destination being Pliegue Tumbado, we follow a steep trail that goes through lengas and ñires forests. Once we have reached the viewing point of Pliegue Tumbado (3h), we descent into the Túnel River Valley. After another 3 hours walking through this valley we will access our first camp in Toro lagoon (650masl).

Here we spend the first night.

Day 6: Toro Campsite - Viedma Refuge


After breakfast we walk through the Toro River. If we cannot wade it, we have to pass it using a zipline on a spot where the river forms a canyon. The long ascent to Paso del Viento (1500msnm) continues skirting Túnel Upper and Lower glacier. The highest point of the trail is Paso del Viento. From this natural balcony we will have one of the best views: towards the West we will see Southern Ice Fields and countless snowed mountains. One more hour walking and we reach Viedma Shelter where we will spend our second night.

Day 7: Viedma Refuge - Paso Huemul Campsite


We departure from the shelter to walk along the west face of Huemul Mount and after crossing a few rivers, we have to gain altitude in search of Huemul Pass (1450masl). From here we have spectacular views over the Viedma glacier turning and entering the lake of the same name.

We continue walking downhill towards the lake to the camp El Puesto.

Day 8: Paso Huemul Campsite - El Chalten


We leave the camp using old cows trails and wetland meadow. Always looking at Viedma Lake, after 5 hours we reach Túnel River in its mouth to Viedma Lake. We have to wade it again. After this cross, we walk towards the main house of a typical Patagonian Estancia in Túnel River. Here we will be picked up an return to El Chalten, 18 km away.

Day 9: El Chalten - El Calafate Airport
