Day 1 : International Aiport Ezeiza

Meet your driver at Ezeiza International Airport – transfer to Buenos Aires in a private vehicle. Transfer with an English-speaking guide. Visit Buenos Aires (half day, walking tour).

Today, discover the political and historical centre of the capital. Start with the 9 de Julio Avenue , the widest in the world, dominated by the Obelisk , a symbol of Buenos Aires. You will pass the Colon Theatre , one of the jewels of the Argentine architecture, before arriving on the Capital main square, Plaza de Mayo.

Your visit then takes you to San Telmo : this historical neighbourhood is a dynamic mix of tourists and locals: picturesque alleyways, old typical cafés, antique shops … This lively barrio is animated day and night – a famous flea market takes place every sunday around Dorrego square.

End your visit with the picturesque neighborhood of La Boca , with its small alley of El Caminito : painters, tango dancers and singers meet between the ancient colourful wooden houses.

Day 2 : San Antonio de Areco

Discover San Antonio de Areco, the most attractive and traditional Argentine pampa town, and get a taste of the gaucho’s life in a historical Estancia. This trip gives you the opportunity to discover a small historical pampa town in Argentina that jealously keeps its traditions and gaucho identity alive.

On the Estancia you will appreciate the beauty and simplicity of the Pampas nature, and learn about the rural life. You will meet real gauchos, and participate in activities such as horseback riding or carriage rides. Enjoying gaucho skills with horses and traditional folk music.

Itinerary:

Around 8:30 am: Pick up at your hotel in Buenos Aires.

10:00 am: Reception at San Antonio de Areco by our local guide, who will show you the picturesque streets of the colonial historical center, “pulperías” (old gauchos´ bars), the renowned Ricardo Güiraldes Museum and traditional workshops.

12:30 pm: Departure to an exclusive Estancia, where you will be greeted with “empanadas” and a delicious “asado” (grilled meat). Then will follow a visit of the Estancia accompanied by our guide. Various activities will be offered: horseback riding or carriage, folkloric music, and “destrezas gauchas” (demonstration of gaucho skills). During the summer, enjoy the outdoor swimming pool.

Day 3 : Buenos Aires

Day 4 : Puerto Madryn

This morning, you will leave early for the Atlantic coast where you can visit the interpretation center ‘Carlos Ameghino´. This interpretation center will allow you to learn part of the history of the Peninsula Valdés, its terrestrial and marine fauna and flora.

Then you continue to Puerto Pirámides, a small traditional village on the shores of the Atlantic in the south of the Peninsula. An important tourist place to see the southern whales, which are present in the region from June to December.

The peninsula is ideal place to see Magellanic penguins, see lions and elephant seals. We take the opportunity to approach the harems of elephant seals along its beaches. Along the slopes of Valdes, you are witnessing a permanent Photo Safari with Guanacos, maras, hares, armadillos, Egret Tinamous, foxes, rheas and raptors.

From Puerto Pirámides, you embark to watch the Southern Right Whale. They are characterized by their smooth and slow movements, and being so curious, they get very close to the boats. Therefore it allows us to easily observe their skin covered by calluses. From time to time, they swim under the boats, releasing a particular sound and then they surprise us with their plunging. It is an unforgettable sight. If the weather is fair and luck is on your side, you will get to watch dolphins following the boat.

Day 5 : Puerto Madryn - Punta Tombo

Group service excursion to Punta Tombo, the most important continental penguin reserve in Latin America. Each year, this reserve welcomes half million pinguins between September and April.

Day 6 : Puerto Madryn - Ushuaia

Transportation from Puerto Madryn to Trelew Airport in pool service. Domestic flight Trelew – Ushuia. Welcoming at Ushuaia airport and private transfer to your hotel in Ushuaia. Transfer with a English-speaking guide. Free day in Ushuaia.

Suggested itinerary:

The capital city of the Argentine province of Tierra del Fuego is located on the southern coast of the Beagle Channel, in a wide bay, guarded on the north by the Martial mountain range. It features a unique landscape where the sea, the glaciers, mountains and forests mingle.

We suggest you start in Maipú Avenue up to the Luis Pedero Fique footbridge. The latter allows you to cross over to the Misión neighborhood, chosen by the first settlers. You can also visit the neighborhoods of Brown and Solier where the early twentieth century buildings now coexist with the modern houses built after the huge urban growth of the 80s.

You can complement your visit going to the Marine Museum and former prison, and the End of the World Museum.

Day 7 : National Tierra del Fuego Park

Half day excursion to Tierra del Fuego National Park in a private service. Located at only 11 km from Ushuaia, and next to the border with Chile, it has 63.000 hectares full of lakes, lagoons and rivers and exit towards Beagle Channel, characteristic that marks the difference with the other national parks of Argentina.

We will drive out of the city passing by the slope of the Susana Mount, where there is the Southern Fuegian Railway.

Then we continue through the Pipo River Valley to the detour that takes us to Ensenada Bay, where we will contemplate the Redonda and Estorbo Islands and on the other coast the Beagle Channel, the snow-white Mountains of the Sampaio Chain (Chile). Then we will go to Roca Lake and Lapataia River.

We will go towards the other end of the Park, where National Route Nº 3 finishes, at Lapataia Bay. Here we can find the Green Lagoon and the Black Lagoon, large growing peat bog. Finally we will pass by the beaver dams, whose footpath will lead to Lapataia Bay.

Return to Ushuaia at lunch time.

Excursion of 4 hours approximately. An English speaking guide will acompany you during your tour. Entrance fee to the National Park included. Departure from the hotel on a pool service to the Ushuaia Port, where you will embark on a 2 hours and 30 minutes navigation through the Beagle Channel. With this sailing you will discover the Fuegian geography and fauna.

We visit the Pajaros Island, famous shelter of Royal and Imperial Cormorant, Albatross and more than 20 seabirds.

Then you will sail near Lobos Island, where you can witness two species of Sea Lions. While returning, you see Ushuaia, dominated by the striking beauty of Martial Mountain Range.

Day 8 : Ushuaia

2 hours before your flight, check out and transfer to Ushuaia Airport. Domestic flight Ushuaia – Calafate. Transfer from El Calafate Airport to your hotel in a private vehicle. An English speaking guide will acompany you during your transfer. Free day in El Calafate.

Enjoy your free time to try one of the following activities:

– Visit the Laguna Nimez Natural Reserve to enjoy the wilderness and observe the flamingos and the 80 other species of birds living there. This is an easy, 20-minute walk from the city center – duration of the visit: 2 hours.

– Visit the Interpretive Center which covers various themes such as paleontology, geology, anthropology and history.

– Rent an electric bike to explore the city.

– Have a drink downtown at the ice bar. Night at the Los Canelos hotel in a standard room.

Day 9 : El Calafate

At 8 am, your private transfer picks you up at your hotel to take you to the Perito Moreno Glacier, 80km away from El Calafate.

This full-day excursion allows you to thoroughly enjoy the exceptional natural surroundings.

Take in the panoramic views from the footbridges : you are facing the whole glacier and its surrounding lenga beech forest.

Embark on a 45 minutes navigation to enjoy the northern side of the glacier, aboard a 50 passengers boat. Night at the Los Canelos hotel in a standard room.

Day 10 : El Calafate

Transfer from the hotel in El Calafate to Punta Bandera.

Boarding at 9:00 at the private port La Soledad .

The route starts northwest and crosses Punta Avellana and Boca del Diablo, the narrowest part of the lake (800 m).

After two hours of sailing, the constant parade of icebergs with varied forms and colours, shows that you are getting closer to the glacier Upsala. The boat will stop along the barrier of ice, which at the moment prohibits the entrance to the Upsala channel, but if the weather conditions are good, you will be able to contemplate the Upsala Glacier. Then going south, the ship will sail into the canal that leads to the Spegazzini glacier, with faces measuring up to 135 m above the lake level.

A gourmet lunch will be served in this wonderful landscape.

During the afternoon, the cruise reaches Puesto de las Vacas, a very quiet bay of the Spegazzini channel. You will then go ashore and enjoy an interesting ride supervised by our team of guides. You can also enjoy some of the beautiful views on the Spegazzini glacier.

Then you resume your journey along the north arm, to reach the private port La Soledad at 6 pm.

Day 12 : Nahuel Huapi Lake

Leave your hotel in a private vehicle to explore the natural surroundings.

This 65km excursion skirts the Nahuel Huapi Lake and drives through important landmarks, such as El Trebol Lagoon, Moreno West and East Lake… Stop along several panoramic points along the road to watch the wonderful views. In front of Pañuelo Port, the luxurious Hotel Llao Llao and San Eduardo Chapel benefit from an incredible location. Stop by Cerro Campanario : take a chairlift to the top to admire one of Bariloche’s best view over the lakes and summits. End your excursion with a nice walk in the woods of the Municipal Llao Llao Reserve.

Day 13 : Victoria Island

Departure from Pañuelo Port, to navigate on a catamaran towards Victoria Island and Arrayán (Myrtle tree) Forest. First you visit Victoria Island where you will walk through the former tree nursery and enjoy some leisure time in this restful place; for instance you can walk up to Del Toro Beach to discover cave paintings done by the natives centuries ago, on a beautiful set, next to volcanic sand beaches. We re-embark and cruise to Port Quetrihué located in the eponymous peninsula in order to visit the famous Arrayán forest. The latter is a unique forest boasting century-old myrtle trees, featuring a smooth, cold, cinnamon coloured bark, white flowers which can only remind us of orange blossoms and very tasty purple berries. Return trip by boat to Pañuelo Port

Day 15 : San Martin de los Andes

Leave San Martin and the Lacar Lake following the mythical Road 40 from lake to lake: Meliquina, Hermoso, Falkner, Villarino… The blue and green waters contrast sharply against the dry peaks.

The road now reaches coihues woods. From Portezuelo, you can watch the Correntoso (Thunderous) and Espejo (Mirror) lakes.

You reach Villa La Angostura – visit this nice little village, its wooden cafés, white sandy beaches… Excellent icecreams and cakes are found in the teahouses.

Skirt the Nahuel Huapi Lake again – after 20km, you will see Bariloche across the lake.

Day 17 : Iguazu National Park, Argentinean side

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel to visit the Iguazu Park located 18km from the city of Puerto Iguazu, on the Argentinian side. Private service with English-speaking guide.

The Iguazu Falls in Misiones have the virtue of never disappointing, but on the contrary, going beyond imagination. As we say in the region, we contemplate the falls on the Brazilian side and we live them on the Argentinian side. The falls are formed thanks to a drop of 70 meters from the Iguazu river, through 275 falls.

Departure in the morning for the upper circuit of the falls on the Argentinian side which offers panoramic viewpoints. You continue on the lower circuit which allows you to observe the Dos Hermanas Falls, and San Martín Island. Free time for lunch. After lunch, you continue the excursion by the circuit Garganta del Diablo , which culminates on a viewpoint facing the Devil’s Throat . This powerful fall stretches 150 meters long and 80 meters high and is surrounded by a dense mist.

Day 18 : Iguazu National Park Brazilian side

Departure to the Brazilian side of the waterfalls in a private service with English-speaking guide.

The 1,200 meters circuit takes the visitor along footbridges and viewing decks to admire the minor Floriano and Teodoro Da Fonseca falls and finally, the Santa María falls, from where the panorama onto Island San Martín and the entirety of the falls is absolutely breath-taking.

Day 19 : City Tour Buenos Aires

Walking City Tour Buenos Aires (half day).

Guided tour of the Recoleta neighbourhood, characterized by many colonial houses, often old houses of historical figures, currently inhabited by powerful Argentine families. Enter the luxurious Pacifico Shopping Center , characterized by its French architecture of 1889 with vaulted ceilings. This stunning place is a locals’ favourite.

Visit the Recoleta Cemetery , where many celebrities, writers and politicians rest. The best known and most revered even today is the tomb of Evita Peron , the legendary wife of President Peron .

Continue your visit by the Palermo neighbourhood, with a stroll in the park Tres de Febrero , inaugurated in 1875, representing the largest green area of the city.

Return to your hotel. Night at the milonga, ballroom for tango aficionados

Step in the intimate atmosphere of the milonga to observe the tango etiquette at ease while sipping champagne: men cross eyes with seated women to invite them. A small nod means yes, and dancers then meet directly on the floor. The atmosphere is warm and lively at the tables, between visitors and regulars.

Note : the exact time and place of the milonga may vary depending on the day (El Beso, La Catedral, El Canning…) – some start at 7pm, others at 11pm, and a few continue till dawn, ending with hot coffee and fresh croissants!
